Sotkamo Silver announces Extension of Agreement with ABB Oy

Sotkamo Silver is delighted to announce that the agreement with ABB Oy concerning sales of technology, has been extended until June 30th 2017. The agreement covers engineering, design, delivery and supply of electrification, automation and instrumentation. The estimated value of the deliveries are about 5 million euro. The value of the supply financing is dependent on the value of the delivery.

The Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link between Denmark and Germany and the Brenner Base Tunnel between Austria and Italy are both record-breaking European mega projects that will play a vital role in the future European transport network. On Wednesday 21st September, representatives from the project companies, and members of the two regional development organisations, String and Brenner Corridor Platform, signed an agreement on mutual co-operation.


Wacker Neuson and Caterpillar to end strategic Alliance for mini hydraulic Excavators in 2018

In 2010, Wacker Neuson and Caterpillar entered into a strategic alliance which saw Wacker Neuson developing and producing mini hydraulic excavators under three tons operating weight exclusively for Caterpillar at its production plant in Hörsching, Austria. Initiated by Caterpillar, both parties have today agreed to end their strategic alliance as of May 31, 2018. Caterpillar plans to manufacture and market its own mini hydraulic excavators in future. Wacker Neuson will continue to manufacture selected mini excavator models until end of 2019 as part of an ongoing OEM supply relationship.


China Cosco Shipping and Deme Team up to develop Offshore Wind Energy in China

The Belgian dredging, environmental and marine engineering group Deme and China Cosco Shipping - the largest shipping company in the world – have formed a joint venture to develop offshore wind energy in China. The cooperation is in line with the Chinese climate vision and its aim to develop renewable energy, both of which were recently incorporated in the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) for social and economic development. The Chinese government wishes to increase the installed capacity of offshore wind energy significantly by 2020.


Salini Impregilo and Politecnico di Milano: a strategic Alliance for young Engineers

The first international Master’s in large infrastructure projects combining the execution and managerial skills of Salini Impregilo and the didactic experience of the Politecnico di Milano was launched today. The post lauream Master‘s in International Construction Management (Level I & II) presented at the Politecnico di Milano by Salini Impregilo CEO Pietro Salini and Giovanni Azzone, the university’s Rector, is dedicated to teaching young engineers from universities all over the world to combine technical and managerial skills for an international career in project management in large-scale infrastructure.
