Rema Tip Top provides services and products for three RWE Power open-pit mining sites in the Rhenish lignite mining area

RWE Power now exclusively relies on Rema Tip Top for the repair and maintenance of the steel cord conveyor belts in their conveyor systems, which transport millions of tons of coal and excavation material from the open-pit mining sites in the Rhenish lignite mining area every year. A new service contract covers services that are to be provided by 120 employees over a period of ten years on-site.

Skanska renovates Road Tunnels in Norway

Skanska has signed a contract with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration for the renovation of two tunnels on the E6 in Akershus, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 385M, about SEK 400M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the third quarter 2017.

Lane Construction wins Unionport Bridge Project in New York

The Lane Construction Corporation, a U.S. subsidiary of Salini Impregilo, in a joint-venture partnership with Schiavone Construction Co., LLC, has won a contract for the Bruckner Expressway over Westchester Creek (Unionport Bridge) project located in Bronx County, New York.
The contract, valued at $232 million, is the first for Lane in the New York City area. It marks a historical milestone for the company as it continues to grow its footprint throughout the United States.

Metrostav to build third Tunnel in Iceland

The Czech construction company Metrostav has scored another victory in Iceland. Following the Héðinsfjarðargöng and Norðfjarðargöng projects in the northern and eastern parts of the island, respectively, Metrostav will soon start building a 5.6 km long tunnel and a 7.8 km section of road connecting the Dýrafjörður and Arnarfjörður fjords on the sparsely inhabited coast in Iceland's northwest. Metrostav will execute the project in cooperation with a local partner, the company Suðurverk.

First of its Kind: Bucket Wheel Excavator Barracuda makes Coal Mining in China safer and more efficient

 

Thyssenkrupp has won its first order for its new Barracuda® compact bucket wheel excavator. China Huaneng Group has ordered the bucket wheel excavator based overburden system from the mining unit of the company’s Industrial Solutions business area. The order is worth more than €40 million. The Barracuda is due to go into operation at the Yiminhe open-pit mine in Inner Mongolia in 2018.
