Samarco Update concerning Tailings and Restart of Operations

Samarco Mineração S.A (Samarco), BHP Billiton Brasil LTDA (BHP Billiton Brasil) and Vale. S.A (Vale) agreed a non-binding term sheet outlining the general terms and conditions for the use of Vale’s Timbopeba pit by Samarco to deposit its tailings, should Samarco restart. Vale would transfer the Timbopeba pit to Samarco and, as compensation, Samarco would supply to Vale an amount of non-processed ore (Run-of-Mine – ROM) for a certain period.

Opening of experimental Acid Mine Water Treatment Plant in Spain

The Regional Minister for Environment and Land Planning of the Andalusia Regional Government, José Fiscal, attended the opening of the experimental acid water treatment plant developed by Sacyr. The Life-Etad project, entering monitoring phase in Huelva, has been jointly developed with the University of Huelva and the Andalusia Regional Government.

Balfour Beatty Triumph at Ground Engineering Awards 2016

Fugro to play Key Role in Norway's coastal Highway Improvement Programme

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA) has awarded Fugro a contract worth 111 million NOK for environmental measurements in connection with the planned Coastal Highway (Route E39) that will run from the South of Norway (Kristiansand), along the west coast and into central Norway (Trondheim). This is probably the largest contract of its kind to date in Norway.

Environmental Technology Trade Fair IFAT gets off to a very successful Start

A glamorous evening comes to an end: Europe's most important environmental and business awards were presented in the run-up to IFAT, which takes place at the Messe München trade-fair center from May 30 to June 3. The winners were honored before approximately 1,000 guests and prominent speakers at a spectacular stage event at the Internationales Congress Center München. So once again the GreenTec Awards were a successful kick-off to IFAT, the World's Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Waste and Raw Materials Management.
