SMT Scharf takes over Canadian Mining Specialist RDH Mining Equipment

SMT Scharf AG (WKN 575198, ISIN DE0005751986) has indirectly acquired an interest in 100 percent of the shares in RDH Mining Equipment, based in Alban, Canada, through its wholly-owned subsidiary SMT Scharf Corporation, also based on Alban, Canada. With this acquisition, SMT Scharf AG is further pursuing its corporate strategy and strengthening its market position as an integrated system provider in the underground logistics area. The purchase price amounts to around CAD 8.0 million (corresponding to approximately EUR 5.17 million).


Remediation of the Kesslergrube Landfill in Germany: Bauer Umwelt starts regular Excavations

The remediation project on the former site of the Kesslergrube landfill (perimeter 1/3 northwest) began in late summer 2015. Roche Pharma AG commissioned Bauer Resources GmbH and Bauer Umwelt, which specializes in contamination remediation, to carry out the work. After the large diameter boreholes for the installation of a secant bored pile wall had been concluded by Bauer Spezialtiefbau GmbH last year and the air-tight, sound-insulated enclosure was completed at the beginning of October, the time had come: the regular excavations started after a short trial operation in December 2017. These are scheduled to be concluded by 2020.

The "Schrobenhausener Tage" symposium was a complete success once again. Approximately 250 customers, partners and friends of the company accepted the invitation of Bauer Spezialtiefbau GmbH to attend the traditional "Schrobenhausener Tage" event in Schrobenhausen in mid-May. Dr. Tilo Klinner, director of foreign trade at Germany's Foreign Office, was among the guests. This year was the first time that attendees, who had traveled from all over Germany, were welcomed by Arnulf Christa, the new Managing Director of Bauer Spezialtiefbau GmbH.
