Epiroc’s General Counsel Jörgen Ekelöw to retire in 2022
Jörgen Ekelöw, Epiroc’s Senior Vice President General Counsel and member of Group Management, has decided to retire at the end of April 2022.
“I wish to thank Jörgen already now for his great contribution during his long career with Epiroc and Atlas Copco. He was instrumental in the successful creation of Epiroc and is a valued member of Group Management,” says Helena Hedblom, Epiroc’s President and CEO.
Jörgen Ekelöw, born 1955, has held the position of Senior Vice President General Counsel and member of Epiroc’s Group Management from 2017. Prior to this, he has held various legal positions in the Group, then Atlas Copco, for in total 19 years.
The recruitment of a successor to the role of Senior Vice President General Counsel will be initiated soon. Jörgen Ekelöw will remain in his current role until the end of April 2022 and ensure an orderly transition.

EV supply chain majors pilot Re|Source, a blockchain solution for end-to-end cobalt traceability
Metals and mining companies CMOC, Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) and Glencore in collaboration with battery material supplier Umicore are piloting ReISource, a solution to trace responsibly produced cobalt from the mine to the electric car. A global EV pioneer and one of the world’s leading battery makers are also part of the pilot. Tested in real operating conditions, from upstream cobalt production facilities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to downstream electric vehicle production sites, the pilot will run until the end of 2021, with the roll-out of the final solution expected in 2022.

QRC welcomes Submissions on Resources Industry Development Plan
The peak body for the resources sector in Queensland has welcomed the opening of submissions to the Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan (QRIDP) by the Queensland Government.
“The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) has been pleased to work closely with the Palaszczuk Government from the outset to develop the plan,” said QRC Chief Executive Ian Macfarlane.
“We congratulate Resources Minister Scott Stewart and his department on working with us to develop this important plan to ensure the resources sector and its communities remain strong and deliver jobs and prosperity for all Queenslanders,” he said.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the resources industry has continued to ensure Queensland’s economic prosperity through its $82.6 billion contribution in the last year.

Nornickel restores Mining at Oktyabrsky Mine to full Capacity
