Der Bund hält Wort: Mehr als 300 Millionen Euro für das Nationale Hochwasserschutzprogramm
Als Konsequenz aus der letzten Hochwasserwasserkatastrophe stocken Bund und Länder ihre Investitionen für den präventiven Hochwasserschutz deutlich auf. Allein der Bund stellt in den nächsten Jahren mehr als 300 Millionen Euro für den natürlichen und technischen Hochwasserschutz zur Verfügung und löst damit Zusagen ein, die nach der Flut im Sommer 2013 gemacht und im Nationalen Hochwasserschutzprogramm verankert worden sind. Die Bundesregierung hatte sich im Koalitionsvertrag dazu bekannt, sich stärker koordinierend beim Hochwasserschutz einzubringen. Bundesumweltministerin Barbara Hendricks und Bundeslandwirtschaftsminister Christian Schmidt stellten heute in Berlin die nächsten Schritte vor.

ICE: New Vice President chosen for 2015/16
ICE welcomes a new Vice President who will join the Presidential Team for the 2015/16 presidential year from November. He is Andrew Wyllie CBE, Chief Executive at Costain. He joins current Vice Presidents Tim Broyd, Professor Robert Mair, Keith Clarke, Adrian Coy, Stephen Fox and Zara Lamont and will work with incoming President Sir John Armitt.
Andrew is Chief Executive of Costain Group PLC, one of the UK's leading engineering solution providers. Prior to taking up this role in 2005, he worked for Taylor Woodrow where he was Managing Director of the construction business and was a member of the Group Executive Committee. He worked for several years on a variety of major contracts in Saudi Arabia, Ghana, the Falklands and Malaysia, as well as projects in the United Kingdom. In addition, Andrew is a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Scottish Water which is the UK's fourth largest water utility providing a service to five million customers in Scotland.
Andrew has an MBA from London Business School, is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institute of Directors and the British American Project. He is also a member of the CBI Construction Council and a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute. He is a former pupil of Dunfermline High School and a graduate of the University of Strathclyde. Andrew was awarded a CBE for services to Construction and Engineering.
He lives with his wife, Jane, and daughter in Buckinghamshire. His interests include travel, music and sport and he raises money for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.
Council have confirmed the election of Andrew Wyllie as succeeding Vice President from November 2015, with a view to becoming President in November 2018, subject to interim annual election by Council.
Presidential Succession 2016
Council have also confirmed the election of Tim Broyd as succeeding Vice President, and that based on seniority, he should be considered as a candidate for the Presidency in November 2016, subject to formal election by Council in December 2015.

Caterpillar China delivers first complete Longwall armored Face Conveyor to Datong Coal Mine Group
Caterpillar (Langfang) Mining Equipment Co. recently manufactured its first full armored face conveyor (AFC) system for longwall mining. Previously the facility, located in Hebei Province, China, had produced only line pans for AFC systems. Producing the first full AFC system marks a milestone in the facility’s evolution as a key mining equipment manufacturing plant for Caterpillar and the region. Langfang premium longwall products will serve mining companies worldwide.
