Sandvik completes the Acquisition of Newtrax

Sandvik has completed the previously announced acquisition of Newtrax, a supplier of technology in wireless connectivity to monitor and provide insights on underground mining operations, including people, machines and the environment.

Newtrax is headquartered in Montréal, Canada, and in 2018 Newtrax generated revenues of about 26 million CAD with 120 employees. The deal is initially slightly accretive to earnings per share.

Superior and CMS Cepcor create Partnership for Crusher Parts in North America

Superior Industries Inc., a U.S. based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, says it has entered into a strategic partnership with Europe’s largest manufacturer of aftermarket crusher parts. For 40-plus years, CMS Cepcor has manufactured premium crusher spares for more than three dozen active and classic brands throughout Europe. The parts manufacturer recently expanded its global footprint when it launched CMS Cepcor Americas.

Vale on the partial Return of dry Processing Operations at the Vargem Grande Complex

Vale informs that the National Mining Agency (Agência Nacional de Mineração - ANM) authorized the partial resumption of the dry processing operations at the Vargem Grande Complex. All operations of the Complex were suspended by ANM on February 20th, 2019, to prevent occasional triggers that could affect dam stability as a result of ongoing activities at the Complex.

Anglo American approves Aquila hard coking Coal Project in Australia

Anglo American plc announces the approval by its Board of the Aquila project to extend the life of the Capcoal underground (Grasstree mine) hard coking coal operations in Queensland, Australia by six years, to 2028. With an expected attributable capital cost of US$226 million, development work is expected to begin in September 2019, with first longwall production of premium quality hard coking coal in early 2022.
