Salini Impregilo enters Norway: Group wins Railway Contract

Salini Impregilo enters the Norwegian market for the first time with the signing of a €388-million civil works contract to upgrade a 13.6-kilometre section of a rail line between the towns of Nykirke and Barkaker south of Oslo. The contract is the latest effort by the Group to expand in countries that are investing in infrastructure and carry a lower risk profile, such as Australia and the United States.

First Holes drilled at the Maly Patom Project in Russia

Kopy Goldfields AB commenced a drilling program at the Maly Patom ('Northern Territories' or 'NT') exploration project. The exploration program targets gold discoveries at one to three previously identified gold anomalies and so far, six holes have been drilled with sulfide mineralization identified in several samples and two samples containing visible gold grains.

Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions announces new CEO of the Mining Technologies Business Unit

Effective November 1, 2019, Jan Lüder will take over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Mining Technologies business unit at Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions AG.

He will succeed Torsten Gerlach, who is leaving the company. Alongside his new role, Jan Lüder will remain CEO of the Thyssenkrupp AG Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters and CEO of the Lead Local Office of the Industrial Solutions business area in Southeast Asia for a transition period up to June 30, 2020.

Before joining Thyssenkrupp, Lüder – who has a degree in engineering – gained extensive experience in responsible management positions at various international plant engineering and technology companies including Primetals Technologies China, Siemens Ltd. China, Siemens VAI Oesterreich and Siemens AG in Germany and Malaysia.
