Snowy 2.0: TBM Factory Test Celebration for Webuild's renewable Energy Project in Australia
The most sophisticated tunnel-boring machine (TBM) for the construction of Snowy 2.0, the biggest renewable energy project in Australia, has passed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), making it ready to be shipped to the site where Snowy Hydro Ltd and Webuild (formerly Salini Impregilo) will expand the Snowy Scheme’s network of hydro power stations in the Snowy Mountains and underpin the country’s transition to a low-carbon emissions future.

Mighty Breakthrough for Europe's biggest Tunnel Boring Machine in Italy
In Italy, the largest tunnel boring machine ever used in Europe successfully completed its drive in June. The supersize borer (Earth Pressure Balance Shield, diameter 15.87 m) made by Herrenknecht in Schwanau, Baden/Southern Germany, dug 7.5 km of highway tunnel through the Apennines. In cooperation with the customer, Herrenknecht designed a new system for the machine, to protect particularly the site crew from the expected methane gas deposits in the ground.

Management Appointment BAM Infra Nederland
The Executive Board of Royal BAM Group nv has appointed Mrs C. (Carla) Rodenburg-Verschuur, MBA as managing director of BAM Infra Nederland bv, effective 1 October 2020. Currently, Mrs Rodenburg is member of the Global Management team of technical services provider Stork, a Fluor company, as Vice President Europe.
Carla Rodenburg (1972) will succeed Mr P.G.F. (Erik) Staps, who fulfilled this position on an interim basis. The Executive Board is very grateful to Erik Staps for his dedication in the past period.
After her electrical engineering study at Delft University of Technology, Mrs Rodenburg worked as a strategic consultant at Arthur D. Little and subsequently at KPNQwest and Shell, in general management as well as business development roles.
As of 1 October 2020, the management of BAM Infra Nederland will consist of Mrs C. (Carla) Rodenburg-Verschuur (chairman) and Mr J.A. (Joost) van Galen, RA (financial director).
