Change of management at BAUER Resources GmbH – Tobias Bangerter to become Managing Director

Starting September 1st, Tobias Bangerter will join the Management Board for BAUER Resources GmbH as a new member, replacing Peter Hingott who has served as Chairman of the Management Board for the past four years alongside his role as member of the Management Board of BAUER AG. At the same time, Dr. Roman Breuer will take over as Chairman of the Management Board.

'We would like to extend our warm thanks to Peter Hingott for his immense commitment and involvement these past years. At the same time, we are thrilled to secure Tobias Bangerter, an established expert in the construction sector and international business, for Bauer Resources,' said Dr. Roman Breuer.

Tobias Bangerter is certainly no stranger to Bauer Resources: for the last two years, he worked as Interim Manager for Bauer Nimr in Oman, where Bauer operates the world's largest reed bed treatment plant for cleaning oil-contaminated water. In his new role, he will in future be responsible for the areas of environmental services, remediation, the Middle East region and business administration.

The 55-year-old has many years of experience in the construction sector, especially in international business: Before transitioning to Bauer, he held various positions at Dywidag in Munich over a period of 20 years, including several years in the management of Dywidag International and later with the Strabag Group. In 2011, he began working independently as a partner with an international project services company specializing in engineering and tunnel construction, primarily managing large international projects.

For Tobias Bangerter, his new position is a passion project: 'Supporting a mid-sized, family-run company like Bauer and growing together – that's what I care about.' Starting in September, he will bring this passion to projects including the development of Bauer Resources on the Chinese and American markets to chart the course for profitable growth.

He is grateful for the confidence that has been placed in him and is excited for his future responsibilities: 'I look forward to meeting the whole team and working together to actively shape the future.'

Today, SSAB, LKAB and Vattenfall are taking a decisive step toward fossil-free steelmaking with the start-up of HYBRIT’s globally unique pilot plant for the production of fossil-free sponge iron. Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven started up the plant together with Isabella Lövin, Minister for Environment and Climate and Deputy Prime Minister, Martin Lindqvist, President and CEO of SSAB, Jan Moström, President and CEO of LKAB and Magnus Hall, President and CEO of Vattenfall.
