Alto Maipo Hydropower Plant nears Completion: German Technology has proven itself

For Chile, the Rio Maipo is a stroke of luck to supply the nearby capital Santiago with energy: In the mighty 'Alto Maipo' power plant project, the planners are relying on European and - in particular - German technology.

The river has its source at over 3000 meters high in the snow covered Andes. It reaches the Pacific Ocean after 250 km. On its way it overcomes a considerable gradient and is therefore ideally suited to generating electricity. Santiago's hunger for energy is great; the conurbation has over 7 million inhabitants. Around 44 percent of Chileans live here making it nothing less than the political and economic heart of the country.

Mine Feasibility Study for Downstream Energy Industries in Indonesia

DMT is appointed to conduct a feasibility study for a low calorie coalmine, which the client plans to use for downstream energy industries such as coal gasification and power plants.

Experts from DMT GROUP have been tasked to prepare the coal Resource and Reserve Statement using JORC (Australasian Joint Ore Reserves Committee) and KCMI (Komite Cadangan Mineral Indonesia) standard, and present the results to the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources so that the client can obtain permits for mining and downstream industries.

This project is carried out by an international team of DMT-experts and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

DMT has been in the mining business since 1737 and has considerable experience providing full scope of mining consultancy – e.g. fully integrated technical design and economic assessments at scoping study, pre‐feasibility and feasibility studies and due diligence.
