Bauma China – ZF Basicpower exhibits robust and reliable Technology
Due to increasing requirements relating to comfort, driving dynamics, cost reduction and fuel saving in China, the market demands more efficient drive systems. The new ZF transmission technology enables a significantly improved comfort level for the special operating conditions of construction machinery – high torque at low speeds in conjunction with high dynamics.
Â
Specifically, for the Off-Road market, ZF has created a dedicated team of Sales, Application, Service and Engineering professionals in China to support both domestic and international customers with existing products and new developments tailored to the market. ZF takes the permanent change on the markets as a chance and became the acknowledged leader of driveline technology with their innovative products.
The new ZF transmission Basicpower was successfully launched on the market in 2019, replacing the existing WG 200 product series. It is based on the well-established Ergopower technology.
With the first transmissions having reached more than 10.000 operating hours in the field without failures already, this proves the transmission´s robustness and reliability.
The next generation secures and expands the current market position of transmissions for wheel loaders and graders. Therefore, the aim is to ensure the highest possible standardization with a simultaneously reasonable best-cost localization of the components of Ergopower. The transmission is available with four and six speeds and one PTO as standard.
Advantages of the new development
The goal was to address the highline components within the product portfolio of ZF and to further enlarge and improve the new transmission, compared to the existing WG 200. With this upgraded technology, a higher performance level can be reached through an intelligent and efficient shifting strategy as well as higher traction effort and speed – decisive criteria in practical applications. Fuel consumption is reduced to a minimum since the gear steps are improved and drag losses are minimized. A decreased noise level and an improved automatic mode ensure better convenience in comparison to the current market standard. The user also benefits from an easy maintenance as well the total costs of ownership thanks to the robust design of the innovation. ZF sets also trends in terms of transmission management. The new Ergocontrol II unit combines technical transmission management with the hydraulic management in one single On-board-unit, which enables a broader and customized functionality.
The new technology, engineered and produced in China, provides comfort to both manufacturers and users and thus prove ZF’s strong market position.
