Voith introduces SafeSet EZi – the newest Generation of Torque limiting Couplings
Voith extends its comprehensive range of torque limiting couplings by introducing SafeSet EZi, thus meeting the growing demand for maximum performance and highest safety in industrial environments. The Voith SafeSet series of torque limiting couplings suits all applications and is well-known to facilitate an immediate release at a pre-set torque in the event of a torque overload and therefore protects drive trains and maximize productivity.
- Easier and safer handling as well as a release mechanism design that enables peak shaving without disengaging the coupling.
- Improved
- Intelligent coupling status monitoring facilitated by the digital system Voith Dtect.
Building on trusted technology with proven accuracy and reliability, the technical enhancements now include a peak shaving function without disengaging the coupling. This improved release mechanism facilitates protection during short transient loads without releasing, whilst the wider slots together with the dual connection allow for quicker, easier and safer resetting. In order to improve efficiency and reduce downtime during maintenance, a shear tube installation tool is included into the service box, simplifying the exchange of the tube, following an overload event.
Further, it is now possible to provide customized drawings within minutes of finalizing a new coupling through a newly developed virtual design tool.
Easy maintenance
SafeSet EZi also simplifies oil change procedures with multiple oil filling ports installed, providing access without the need to rotate the coupling before service. The multiple oil ports enable operators to choose from various ports and use them as a backup solution if one port might be damaged. Furthermore, a user-friendly filling tool, together with predefined oil volumes makes the oil refilling process much easier and faster. The new design concept also improves spare part availability and delivery time, and thereby significantly eases maintenance procurement and planning stress.
Adding digital intelligence
The new SafeSet EZi torque limiting couplings are also compatible with Voith Dtect. This fully compatible optional system provides peak load slippage measurement, speed as well as service indicators to the operator in order to monitor the status of each coupling. Further, event logging is possible and disconnection can be indicated immediately helping operators to minimize downtimes.
