Porr wins major contract for Elbe crossing in SuedLink project in Germany
The SuedLink project to construct a powerful direct current transmission line is vital to ensure a secure, stable power supply in the future. It will transport renewable power from wind farms in northern Germany to the south of the country and is a necessary step in the energy transition. The plans for the SuedLink project include a tunnel crossing under the Elbe River. TenneT TSO GmbH, a leading European transmission system operator, has engaged Porr’s tunnelling division for the challenging task of establishing the SuedLink connection under the Elbe between Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony.

Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) has awarded the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) a 10-year contract to operate and maintain its underground Line-3, after Delhi Metro emerged as the lowest bidder in the tendering process recently.
The Kick Off meeting was held today in the headquarters of MMRCL in Mumbai wherein Dr. Amit Kumar Jain, Director (Operations & Services), DMRC thanked Ms. Ashwini Bhide, Managing Director, MMRCL and assured that with the vast experience of more than 20 years of operating metro services in Delhi covering around 400 kms network, DMRC, which is now the lifeline of Delhi, is committed to achieve excellence in financial capital of the country and serve people of Mumbai with safe, reliable, comfortable and high quality service.
MMRCL is happy to be associated with DMRC, one of the leading metro operating companies in the country, for operation and maintenance of Mumbai’s first underground metro line.
DMRC will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the 33.5 km long Line-3 with 27 stations including management of operation control centre, depot control centre, stations, running trains, maintenance of trains and all metro systems infrastructure, and ensuring the safety of passengers
The Mumbai Metro Line-3 is currently under construction, under the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) and is expected to be operationalized in parts from the end of this year onwards.
