Hochtief honored as global industry leader for sustainability
Company achieves top ranking in Dow Jones Sustainability Index
International recognition for Hochtief's sustainable activities: S&P Global determined the highest sustainability score worldwide for the Hochtief Group in the "Construction & Engineering" sector of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI). Hochtief has been included in the internationally renowned index for the 17th time in a row for its performance in the areas of business/governance, environment and social issues.
"Being named an industry leader is a great success for Hochtief and the result of our ongoing global commitment to sustainability. Our entire workforce is engaged to drive the highest ESG standards and lead transformative change," says Hochtief CEO Juan Santamaría Cases.
The DJSI World is one of the best-known sustainability indices and includes the top ten percent of companies in their respective industries in terms of long-term economic, environmental and social performance in the S&P Global Broad Market Index.
Hochtief published its Sustainability Plan 2025 at the beginning of the year, which includes commitments and targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in order to make a company-specific contribution to supporting the Paris Climate Agreement.
“For the Hochtief Group, we are aiming for a transformation toward climate-neutral operations by 2045. With our globally established implementation team, we will be working very intensively on this over the next few years," says Hochtief Executive Board member and Chief Sustainability Officer Martina Steffen.
