Leading industry companies and a broad array of industry leaders made their way to the African continent's largest mining convention in February. The Mining Indaba, as it's called, is an annual Mining Conference held in Cape Town, South Africa that attracts brokers and lenders, explorers and miners, politicians and policy makers from throughout the world to get the latest updates on mineral exploration and mining in Africa. While Pula is the only American exploration company operating in Tanzania, the American presence at this year's Indaba was impressive by any measure.
Among those attending was the Under Secretary of State Jose Fernandez, who heads the Minerals Security Partnership. Pula President Dr. Mary-Mildred Stith, offered this observation of this year's confab—"Pula has been anticipating the global shift to lithium-ion batteries. It is upon us and it is here to stay. Natural graphite is a critical mineral and the battery supply chain is on everyone’s radar screen. Pula is well-positioned to lead, in terms of profits and ethics, the African battery minerals space. If the Indaba is any indicator, the Biden Administration seems serious about "upping its game" on the continent."
