REMA TIP TOP: Gulich´s Nachf. Fördertechnik GMBH acquires Knapheide GmbH Hydraulik-Systeme - strenghtens its position in the German conveyor technology market

H. Gulich's Nachf. Fördertechnik GmbH, a company of the globally operating REMA TIP TOP Group, acquired the conveyor technology division of Knapheide GmbH Hydraulik-Systeme. With the acquisition REMA TIP TOP expands its production capacity of high-quality conveyor belts in Germany.

Founded in 1967, Knapheide was a highly specialized supplier of custom and turnkey hydraulics solutions as well as conveyor belts. Operating a modern and well-equipped production site with experienced employees in Beckum, Germany, Knapheide supplied domestic and international markets.

World Tunnel Congress WTC 2023 starts next Week

Athens is set to host the World Tunnel Congress (WTC2023), where industry leaders and experts will gather to discuss the theme "Expanding Underground, Knowledge & Passion to Make a Positive Impact on the World". With the world facing various challenges such as rapid urbanization, natural hazards, and climate change, the conference aims to highlight the potential of underground space in providing sustainable and green solutions to transform people's lives into a more resilient lifestyle. The WTC2023 will showcase recent innovations and provide an opportunity to explore the use of smart technology to efficiently upgrade underground infrastructure assets, transforming the industry and the societies it serves.
The WTC2023 organised by the Greek Tunnelling Society (GTS) and the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA-AITES) will take place in Athens from 12 to 18 May at the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre (MAICC). The event returns, once again, in a hybrid format, giving the option of a virtual participation through its platform, where sessions and scientific papers will be available. 2,000 professionals are expected to attend this major international tunnelling event featuring most of the industry’s key players.

Fugro’s Blue Essence completes world’s first fully remote offshore wind ROV inspection

The world’s first fully remote inspection of offshore wind farm assets has been successfully carried out by Fugro, using one of its Blue Essence® uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) with Blue Volta®, an electrical remotely operated vehicle (eROV). The inspection at the Aberdeen offshore wind farm in the North Sea (also known as the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre) was jointly funded by Vattenfall and Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult. This partnership gives innovators in the offshore wind supply chain the opportunity to test and prove technologies in real-world conditions to support innovation in operations and maintenance.
