Webuild in consortium with Pizzarotti and Ghella wins two rail contracts in Southern Italy

• Consortium to build lot 1a Battipaglia-Romagnano of Salerno-Reggio Calabria High-Speed Rail and Lot 3 Lercara-Caltanissetta Xirby of Palermo-Catania High-Capacity Rail

Skanska selected preferred bidder for construction and O&M for E10-rv. 85 road project in northern Norway

Skanska has as a part of a consortium been selected by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA) as preferred bidder for the E10/rv. 85 Tjeldsund-Gullesfjordbotn-Langvassbukt road project in northern Norway. For Skanska, the scope of the project includes designing, building, and operating and maintaining the road for 15 years from completion.

LKAB - Historic permit application decisive for the green transition in the north

LKAB today submitted an historic environmental permit application that is necessary for beginning the company's transition in Gällivare. In addition to continued mining and processing operations, the permit covers, among other plans, the establishment of HYBRIT's first demonstrator plant and a new apatite plant for extracting phosphorus and rare earth elements from current waste streams.

Roland Hecken to become new COO at HBT GmbH

Since May 2, 2023, Roland Hecken has joined the management of HBT GmbH as Technical Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the company's operative business.
Mr. Hecken has extensive knowledge of international mining and many years of experience in international plant and mechanical engineering as well as in automation technology.
As the new COO, Roland Hecken will contribute to further expanding HBT's technological leadership in the longwall mining industry and to promoting development in other industrial areas.

HS2 contractor invests in upskilling Bucks residents ready for jobs on HS2

Buckinghamshire residents have been given a helping hand to launch a career in construction with HS2’s Aylesbury-based contractor, Blackwell Earthmoving Limited. HS2’s construction partner, Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall (EKFB), appointed Blackwell Earthmoving to deliver the earthworks on a 30km section of the route from Calvert South to the North Chilterns.
