Moody’s upgrades Schaeffler AG to Ba2

The rating agency Moody’s Investors Service (Moody’s) has upgraded Schaeffler AG’s corporate family rating (CFR) to Ba2 from Ba3 and the probability of default rating (PDR) to Ba2-PD from Ba3-PD. The rating upgrades reflect the envisaged deleveraging of indebtedness at Schaeffler AG, stemming from the proceeds of the successful listing of Schaeffler AG shares at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on October 9, 2015.

Schaeffler continues along path of profitable growth

  • Revenue for 1st half of 2015 increased by 12.4 percent to EUR 6.7 billion
  • EBIT margin remains high at 12.2 percent despite special items
  • Free cash flow adversely affected by one-time refinancing charges 
  • Outlook for 2015 confirmed

Global automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler looks back on a successful first half of its 2015 business year. “We have continued along our path of profitable growth during the first half of 2015. Our business has now grown for six consecutive quarters,” Klaus Rosenfeld, CEO of Schaeffler AG, said on Thursday during the presentation of the results for the first half of 2015.

Schaeffler generates Record Revenue in the First Half of 2014

  •  Revenue at new record high of approximately EUR 6.0 bn; 9.6 % growth at constant currency
  •  Earnings quality with EBIT margin above 13 % on high level
  •  Free cash flow adversely affected by special items
  •  Capital structure further improved

The international technology group Schaeffler increased its revenue to a new record high of approximately EUR 6.0 bn in the first half of 2014. Revenue grew 6.7 % from the corresponding prior year period. Excluding the impact of currency translation, the Group’s operational revenue growth was 9.6 %.
