BAM Contractors to build Scheldt Tunnel, the jewel in the crown of the Oosterweel Link Project (Antwerp)

Tradecc expands its product portfolio with the introduction of PC Tunnelinject 2K 6822 LV. This very low viscous, fast reacting, two-component polyurethane injection resin uses the principle of self-injection to push itself further in the crack.

Each tunneling project is unique and has its own challenges related to the conditions of the soil, the surface or the underground structures present. On November 26th and 27th 2019, Tradecc will present its construction chemicals, engineered to face those challenges, at STUVA Expo, one of the most specialized exhibitions for the tunnelling sector. The Flemish-Dutch Scheldt Commission (Vlaams-Nederlandse Scheldecommissie, VNSC, a partnership between the Netherlands and Flanders for jointly managing the Scheldt estuary) has commissioned the Sassevaart joint venture the contract to construct a new lock at Terneuzen. The contract value is more than €753 million. The Sassevaart joint venture consists of BAM (the Dutch and Belgian sister companies BAM Infra and BAM Contractors), DEME (DEME Infra Marine Contractors B.V. and Dredging International N.V.) and the Belgian contractor Algemene Aannemingen Van Laere N.V.

Industeel, ArcelorMittal’s subsidiary specialized in the production of hot rolled steel plates, ingots and formed pieces, has successfully upgraded its thick slab caster in collaboration with Danieli. The investment project had a volume of €18 million.

The European Commission has found German plans to grant €1.6 billion public financing for mothballing and subsequently closing eight lignite-fired power plants to be in line with EU state aid rules.

The Flemish public transport operator De Lijn, the Flemish Roads and Traffics Agency, - and the City of Antwerp have granted in coordination with the Beheersmaatschappij Antwerpen Mobiel the contract for the construction of the PPP tram project Northern line, to the consortium TramContractors. Partners in this consortium are BAM-PGGM and Cofely Fabricom (ENGIE). The contract value is approximately €200 million.

Mid October 2014, Deme’s marine foundations specialist GeoSea announced the upcoming acquisition of offshore assets of Hochtief, one of Germany’s leading international construction groups. The financial close of the transaction has now been achieved.

Royal BAM Groep nv intends to merge its two Belgian subsidiaries CEI-De Meyer and Betonac to form BAM Contractors nv with effect from 1 April 2015.

SRWT (Société Régionale Wallonne du Transport) has selected the Mobiliège joint venture as preferred tenderer for the tram line project in Liege. Mobiliège is formed by BAM PPP PGGM Infrastructure cooperative, Alstom and DG Infra + BAM Galère (the operating company that realizes construction and civil projects in Wallonia) is involved for the civil and building works. Other BAM companies involved are BAM Track, Betonac, BAM FM and BAM Maintenance.

Infrabel, the Belgian railway infrastructure manager,  officially inaugurated the Liefkenshoek rail link, set to open to traffic on 14 December 2014.

Royal BAM Group nv has reached agreement to sell its Walloon subsidiary Balteau sa to CMI Groupe at Seraing, Belgium.

ASK Chemicals today announce the appointment of Frank Coenen as its Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Stefan Sommer in the role. Mr. Coenen most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Tessenderlo Group, a global, Belgian-listed specialty chemicals group.
