The Webuild Group has begun ahead of schedule the work for the construction of the Verona-Bivio di Vicenza section of the high-speed/high-capacity railway between Verona and Padua. The work, which Webuild is leading with a 83% stake in the IRICAV DUE consortium with Hitachi Rail STS at 17%, on the section is worth approximately €2.5 billion and belongs to a wider project for Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (Gruppo FS Italiane) worth more than €2.7 billion.

Der Verzicht auf Zugang zu diesen oder die übermäßige Abhängigkeit von einzelnen Anbietern würde die Fähigkeit Europas beeinträchtigen, bei diesen Technologien industrieller Spitzenreiter zu werden.

(Federation of the German Construction Industry) was unanimously selected as the President of the European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC) at the annual general meeting on May 22, 2020.

Critical and economically significant metals, such as cobalt and nickel, can be recovered profitably from metal refining wastes as well as ores with lower than usual concentrations. This was demonstrated by an EU project coordinated by VTT, which developed new and combined existing recovery methods. Various stakeholders interested in using low-grade ores and waste can evaluate the valorization of raw-material streams with the webtool developed in the project.

ILF Consulting Engineers was assigned a contract to support a research project regarding operation and maintenance of pumped storage power plants by the Sejong University in Seoul in the Republic of Korea. The project is supported by KHNP (Korea Hydro Nuclear Power Company), owner and operator of all existing pumped storage power plants in the Republic of Korea.

On 23 and 24 May 2018, the research project Next, financed by the European Union as part of the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme, started with a kick-off meeting in Rovaniemi, Finland. Next will develop new geomodels, novel sensitive exploration technologies and data analysis methods, which together are fast, cost-effective, environmentally safe and potentially more socially accepted.
