Sika is expanding its production capacities in Southeast Europe by bringing a further mortar facility as well as a warehouse for raw materials and end-products on stream at its Simanovci site in Serbia. The plant, which is located near Belgrade, has been continuously expanded in recent years to keep pace with the dynamic development experienced by the region’s construction sector and strong Sika growth.

Sika has agreed to acquire Arcon Membrane Srl, a leading manufacturer of roofing and waterproofing systems in Romania. By acquiring Arcon, Sika will significantly strengthen its position in the Romanian market and extend its product portfolio to meet the increasing demand for complete solutions in the roofing and waterproofing markets. The acquired business generates annual sales of CHF 23 million. The transaction is subject to approval by the Romanian anti-trust authority.

Sika expands its Presence in United Arab Emirates with new Factory in Dubai

Sika is developing its operations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the opening of a new factory in Dubai. An existing production facility for concrete admixtures has been relocated to the new site and expanded. A state-of-the-art mortar facility and a reactor for producing polymers have been installed and will constitute the basis for the production of high-performance concrete admixtures. Furthermore, the new facility will play a strategic role as a sales and distribution center for the region.

Schweizer Bundesrat Schneider-Ammann besucht neues Sikawerk in Aserbaidschan

Im Rahmen einer politischen Delegationsreise besuchte Bundesrat und Vorsteher des Eidgenössischen Departements für Wirtschaft, Bildung und Forschung Johann Schneider-Ammann in Begleitung des aserbaidschanischen Ministers für Wirtschaftsentwicklung Shahin Mustafayev und des Schweizer Botschafters Philipp Stalder das neue Sikawerk nahe der Landeshauptstadt Baku. In der modernen Fabrik werden Betonzusatzmittel und Mörtelprodukte für den lokalen Baumarkt gefertigt.

Sika’s First Factory in Senegal starts Operations

Sika is continuing to expand its production capacity in West Africa with the opening of a concrete admixture factory in Senegal. The new plant is the first in the country and will be further expanded with the addition of a mortar production facility in due course. With a total of 19 national subsidiaries and 20 factories, Sika has a strong presence in Africa.
