CBE: new Contracts with a total Volume of 256 Segment Moulds for Tunnelling Projects

CBE Group recently signed new contracts with a total volume of 256 moulds for tunnelling projects in Saudi Arabia, China, Mexico, India, Hong Kong, Iran and Singapore. These new projects underline once again CBE's committment to be the world leading manufacturer of segment moulds and precast factories.


Amongst the new projects are four subway lines: Singapore, Jaipur, Wuhan and Riyad Metro with tunnel diameters varying from 6,000 mm for the Chineese Metro line in the city of Wuhan to 6,000 mm for the Singaporian tube and 6,350 mm for the indian underground up to 9,400 mm for the Riyad subway. A total of 152 moulds will be supplied only to these four projects. Segments for Riyad and Wuhan are to be produced by high performance carousel factories designed and made by CBE.

Additionally, CBE supplies six sets of segment moulds and a carousel precast plant to Consorcio Aldesem-Recsa-Proaconfor, the contractor for the construction of Emisor Poniente 2, a storm water drainage tunnel in Mexico. The 5.5 km tunnel with an inner diameter of 7,700 mm will have a capacity to handle 202 m3/s and will run parallel to the existing drainage tunnel in the west of Mexico Valley, helping to reduce the risk of flooding in the Atizapán de Zaragoza, Tlalnepantla and Naucalpan municipalities.

Another water scheme, the Kani Sib Water Tunnel in Iran will be supplied by CBE with seven sets of moulds and a stationary precast plant. This project will be realised by Petro Omran in the Iranian province of Kurdistan and the concrete rings will have an impressive exterior diameter of 6,000 mm, a thickness of 250 mm and a width of 1,500 mm. Composition per concrete ring will be of three standard, two counter-key and one key-stone.

Finally, our four sets of moulds with an outer diameter of 13,600 mm made by CBE will be shipped to the Liantang-Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point project in Hong Kong for the Construction of a dual two-lane trunk road connecting the BCP with Fanling Highway adjacent to Wo Hop Shek − which comprises three tunnel sections totaling 3.5 km in length.
