With the sale of the online distributor Reichelt to Invision, Datwyler will now be specialising solely in system-critical elastomer components. The deal is due to be completed in the autumn. In the forthcoming phase, Datwyler will be focussing on organic growth and targeted acquisitions to strengthen existing business.
Datwyler has signed a contract with Invision for the sale of its subsidiary Reichelt and associated companies. As an online distributor of electronic components, Reichelt generated CHF 188.8 million in revenue with its 280 employees in 2020. The contract is due to be concluded in autumn 2021 subject to fulfilment of the usual conditions for completion. The parties have agreed not to disclose details of the transaction. As an established private equity firm based in Zug and Düsseldorf, Invision has many years of investment and management experience across more than 60 acquisitions since 1997, and aims to use its capital and expertise to boost the potential and development of Reichelt in tandem with the existing management team.
"With the sale of Reichelt, the transformation of Datwyler into a specialist in system-critical elastomer components is now complete. In the forthcoming phase, we will be focussing on organic growth as well as targeted acquisitions to strengthen existing business sustainably. The high demand is confirmation of our promising future potential," says Datwyler CEO Dirk Lambrecht.
