Several K+S Group companies recently collected awards for their high quality standards as employers and as enterprise providing traineeships. “We are delighted about all these awards which show that the K+S Group is a wide-ranging and attractive employer worldwide with good prospects for the future,” says Dr. Thomas Nöcker, member of the Board of Executive Directors of K+S Aktiengesellschaft with responsibility for personnel affairs.
Germany’s Best Traineeship Enterprises 2017
Business magazine Focus Money awarded K+S KALI GmbH a quality seal as one of “Germany’s best traineeship enterprises in 2017.” The award was based on a study (www.deutschlandtest.de) of Germany’s 5,000 largest enterprises in terms of workforce size. The quality of training was assessed on the basis of factors such as successful completion, structural data on training, including advancement and mentoring programs, and trainee compensation. The largest K+S subsidiary came out on top for the mining industry. There are currently 469 young people receiving solid vocational training at company sites in Germany. MINT Minded Company
Having been awarded the “MINT Minded Company” title in 2015 and 2016 in connection with the “MINT Zukunft schaffen” initiative, K+S has now been once again awarded the title this year. The title was awarded on the grounds that the Company is regarded as a particularly attractive employer by students and graduates of MINT subjects, i.e., mathematics, computing, science and engineering, in Germany and displays a high degree of commitment to the MINT initiative. The patron of the non-profit organization is Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel. The aim of the initiative is to encourage school students to develop an interest in MINT occupations and to draw attention to the shortage of MINT experts in Germany. For some years now, K+S employees have been acting as MINT ambassadors informing young people about exciting career opportunities at the company. Saskatchewan’s Top Employers
K+S received a further award as an attractive employer in North America: In April 2017, Canadian subsidiary K+S Potash Canada was named one of the best employers in Saskatchewan province once again (“Saskatchewan’s Top Employers”). The young K+S company, to which the Bethune mine belongs (formerly “Legacy”), was awarded the title for the fourth time in a row.
