Minera Centinela awards Hatch EPCM Contract to implement Integrated Operations Management Project Featured
With this project in Chile, Minera Centinela will lead the way in operation management at a global scale
Minera Centinela, part of the Antofagasta Minerals group, has awarded Hatch the engineering, procurement, and construction management services for its Centinela Integrated Operations Management Project (GIO-CEN). This project will implement a new way of managing Minera Centinela's operations in a centralized collaborative context, which includes people, processes, and technology, based on massive data analysis focused on mining business and knowledge acquisition.
Within the framework of this project, Hatch will provide a comprehensive solution that will consist of conventional engineering, data analysis, and integration of IT/OT systems and process control systems, applied to the mining industry in which Hatch stands out for its extensive knowledge and long history.
This solution will address the challenge of bringing together the project’s different elements, which range from classical engineering and construction to the characteristic methodologies of software engineering applied to the management of multiple databases and their integration, all in a consistent and logical way. This project, one of the largest integrations of operations in terms of investment and impact on the way assets are managed to date, will allow Minera Centinela to add value to its operations, enhancing them based on the analysis of data from its different components.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Hatch to lead this transformational project that will deliver significant value to Centinela. Our breadth and depth of knowledge across the areas of conventional engineering, control and automation systems, and digital technologies means we can take a holistic approach to delivering an integrated project – from sensor through to control room operator,” said Mark Dwyer, Hatch’s South America regional director, Digital.
