BAM in Joint Venture with NCC awarded major Swedish Tunnel Project

The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) has selected Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG – the German tunnelling specialist of Royal BAM Group nv –  in joint venture NCC (one of the leading companies in construction, infrastructure and property development in the Nordic region)  to build the 3.2 kilometre long Korsvägen phase of the West Link tunnel project in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Senior Management Changes at BAM Construct UK

Mr G. Cash, BA, RIBA will retire as chief executive of BAM Construct UK Ltd with effect from 1 January 2018. The Executive Board would like to thank Graham Cash for more than 31 years of loyal service and, in particular, his contribution in leadership roles within the Group since 1995. Graham Cash has been a member of the board of BAM Construct UK since 2007.

Major Contract for Construction of new Lock at Terneuzen in the Netherlands

The Flemish-Dutch Scheldt Commission (Vlaams-Nederlandse Scheldecommissie, VNSC, a partnership between the Netherlands and Flanders for jointly managing the Scheldt estuary) has commissioned the Sassevaart joint venture the contract to construct a new lock at Terneuzen. The contract value is more than €753 million. The Sassevaart joint venture consists of BAM (the Dutch and Belgian sister companies BAM Infra and BAM Contractors), DEME (DEME Infra Marine Contractors B.V. and Dredging International N.V.) and the Belgian contractor Algemene Aannemingen Van Laere N.V.

Composition of Royal BAM Group's Supervisory Board

The Supervisory Board of Royal BAM Group nv intends to nominate Mr P. Sheffield CBE for appointment to the Supervisory Board at an extraordinary general meeting on 24 August 2017 for a period which will end with the general meeting of shareholders in 2021. This nomination is related to the vacancy arising (as announced on 21 February 2017) from the retirement of Mr P.A.F.W. Elverding from the Supervisory Board for health reasons after the annual general meeting on 19 April 2017.

BAM appoints Director Governance, Risk and Compliance

The Executive Board of Royal BAM Group nv has appointed Dr. W.H.A. Swinkels RO as  Director Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) with effect from 1 January 2017. Currently Walter Swinkels (1975) is a partner at consultant CPI Risk Finance Governance and also a lecturer at the University of Amsterdam.

BAM reports improved results and strong cash flow; reiterates full year outlook:

  • Construction: Netherlands profitable and turnaround ongoing; negative result and refocus in Germany
  • Civil engineering: strong margin improvement
  • Property: improved results for residential and non-residential activities
  • PPP: solid performance driven by portfolio; funding PGGM JV increased

BAM acquires Contract for Subway Tunnel in Frankfurt

Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau, the German tunnel specialist of Royal BAM Group, has been awarded the contract for the construction of a subway tunnel in Frankfurt. The two-kilometre double-track tunnel will be constructed in the city centre, in the new Gateway Gardens district. The contract value is approximately €220 million.

Royal BAM Group: Composition Surpervisory Board and Executive Board

Following the Annual General Meeting on 20 April 2016 Mr H.L.J. Noy will be stepping down as a member of the Supervisory Board, in connection with the end of his four-year term of appointment. If the General Meeting does not make any other recommendations, the Supervisory Board intends, taking into account the enhanced recommendation of the central works council, to propose that Mr Noy be reappointed for another period of four years.
