The Environment Agency has completed repairs to a 40 m slip on a flood defence embankment in Doncaster, to repair and improve defences for winter.
The Executive Board of Royal BAM Group nv has appointed Mrs C. (Carla) Rodenburg-Verschuur, MBA as managing director of BAM Infra Nederland bv, effective 1 October 2020. Currently, Mrs Rodenburg is member of the Global Management team of technical services provider Stork, a Fluor company, as Vice President Europe.
The Supervisory Board of Royal BAM Group nv has decided to nominate Ruud Joosten as CEO and chairman of the Executive Board as per 1 September 2020. Joosten (55) has a long-standing career at AkzoNobel, where he has held numerous leadership positions. The last eight years he was member of the Executive Committee and since 2017 Chief Operating Officer, responsible for business performance.
Trading update for the first half of 2020, including Covid-19 impact
The City of Cologne, Cologne Public Transport (KVB) and the joint venture (‘Arge’) that constructed a section of Cologne’s North/South metro line have reached an agreement to settle all outstanding claims with regard to this project, including damages caused by the collapse of the building of the City archives on 3 March 2009.

A consortium of Van Oord and BAM International completed the construction of the APM Terminals Moín in Costa Rica. The inauguration of the container terminal will enable products to be shipped on transatlantic routes to European and Asian markets without transshipment.

BAM International (the operating company of Royal BAM Group active outside Europe) – together with JJM Construction (Canada) and Manson Construction (USA) – has received the full order to build the new Rio Tinto BC Works Terminal A on behalf of LNG Canada.
The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) has selected Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG – the German tunnelling specialist of Royal BAM Group nv – in joint venture NCC (one of the leading companies in construction, infrastructure and property development in the Nordic region) to build the 3.2 kilometre long Korsvägen phase of the West Link tunnel project in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Mr G. Cash, BA, RIBA will retire as chief executive of BAM Construct UK Ltd with effect from 1 January 2018. The Executive Board would like to thank Graham Cash for more than 31 years of loyal service and, in particular, his contribution in leadership roles within the Group since 1995. Graham Cash has been a member of the board of BAM Construct UK since 2007.
BAM International bv – the operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, active outside Europe – has been awarded a design and construct contract to build road infrastructure worth €14.5 million for global trade enabler DP World at their flagship Jebel Ali Port and Free Zone in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Flemish-Dutch Scheldt Commission (Vlaams-Nederlandse Scheldecommissie, VNSC, a partnership between the Netherlands and Flanders for jointly managing the Scheldt estuary) has commissioned the Sassevaart joint venture the contract to construct a new lock at Terneuzen. The contract value is more than €753 million. The Sassevaart joint venture consists of BAM (the Dutch and Belgian sister companies BAM Infra and BAM Contractors), DEME (DEME Infra Marine Contractors B.V. and Dredging International N.V.) and the Belgian contractor Algemene Aannemingen Van Laere N.V.
The Supervisory Board of Royal BAM Group nv intends to nominate Mr P. Sheffield CBE for appointment to the Supervisory Board at an extraordinary general meeting on 24 August 2017 for a period which will end with the general meeting of shareholders in 2021. This nomination is related to the vacancy arising (as announced on 21 February 2017) from the retirement of Mr P.A.F.W. Elverding from the Supervisory Board for health reasons after the annual general meeting on 19 April 2017.

Currently Walter Swinkels (1975) is a partner at consultant CPI Risk Finance Governance and also a lecturer at the University of Amsterdam.
