The global technology company Schaeffler inaugurated its first manufacturing facility in Russia. The Schaeffler Group will deliver high-quality products to domestic and overseas automobile manufacturers and the railway industry from its new production plant in Ulyanovsk.
Together with other bearing manufacturers and in close cooperation with US authorities, Schaeffler Group has achieved a significant win in the fight against worldwide product piracy in rolling bearings. On July 16 and 29, 2014, counterfeit rolling bearings valued at over 500,000 USD were seized at supplier Tex Star Bearings in Houston, Texas in the USA.
The international technology group Schaeffler increased its revenue to a new record high of approximately EUR 6.0 bn in the first half of 2014. Revenue grew 6.7 % from the corresponding prior year period. Excluding the impact of currency translation, the Group’s operational revenue growth was 9.6 %.
The SKF Group has reached a settlement with the European Commission putting an end to the investigation regarding supply of bearings to the European automotive manufacturing industry. The company has agreed to pay EUR 315,109,000 (around SEK 2,8 billion) and the settlement amount is covered by the earlier announced provision made by SKF already in its fourth quarter results 2013.
