Four projects in 2016 for CDE with Cemex

Following the recent announcement of the opening of Datchet Quarry CDE is delighted to announce a partnership with Cemex to deliver a further three new sand and aggregates washing projects across the Midlands and South of England. Over the four projects Cemex is making a substantial investment to further strengthen their UK aggregates operations. To date two projects are complete with another two to commission before the end of 2016.

In large-scale projects top technologies are essential to ensure that concrete shows the required performance and can be properly processed. The Ulu Jelai hydroelectric power plant in Malaysia is a major project that has been realized with Sika products.


Sika opens new Production Plant in Australia

With the opening of a new production plant in Bibra Lake near Perth, Sika is paving the way for future growth in Western Australia. The new site will increase capacities for concrete admixtures and synthetic fibers, improve finished goods warehousing and logistics and accommodate future mortar production facilities.


Sika opens second Factory in Thailand

Sika is expanding its supply chain footprint in Thailand by inaugurating a mortars and concrete admixtures plant. The new facility in Saraburi, 100 km North of Bangkok, is the Group's second in the country. This latest investment will enable Sika to meet the needs of Thailand’s booming construction market, expand its local product portfolio and continue its strong growth.

Sika opens two new Factories in Southeast Asia

Sika is systematically implementing its Strategy 2018 by entering into new markets and opening 6 to 8 factories a year, and has now further expanded its presence in Southeast Asia. With one new production plant for concrete admixtures in Myanmar and another one in Cambodia, Sika is increasing its proximity to customers in these growing markets and continuing its successful expansion.

Dywidag-Systems International USA Inc. extends its strategic Partnership with Gerdau Long Steel North America

On November 19th 2015, Dywidag-Systems International USA Inc. (DSI) and Gerdau Long Steel North America (Gerdau) signed a formal extension to the strategic partnership first entered into in January 2012 in Gerdau’s Tampa Florida headquarters. This is more than a year in advance of the expiration of the first term of the partnership. It extends the strategic relationship in the North American civil construction market for the hot-rolled Dywidag Threadbar® products domestically produced for DSI at the Gerdau steel mill in St. Paul, Minnesota into 2022.

In the construction of the 824 MW Muskrat Falls hydroelectric power station in Labrador, Canada, extreme cold is a particular challenge. Temperatures as low as -40°C are not uncommon at the site. Self-healing Concrete up for Award

Costain has been shortlisted for Sustainable Business of the Year 2015, part of the annual Sustain Wales awards, based on the Company’s support of a research project to develop self-healing concrete. The winner will now be chosen by an online public vote, with a deadline of 9 October for votes to be cast.


Sika expands Footprint in Africa

Sika is opening its first concrete admixture and mortar production facilities in Nigeria and Ivory Coast and has established new subsidiaries in Ethiopia and Tanzania to participate in the growing markets in the Sub-Saharan region. Thus Sika continues its dedicated and successful expansion strategy and is enlarging its presence to sixteen countries on the African continent.


Skanska renovates Tunnel in Oslo, Norway

Skanska has signed a contract with the Norwegian Road Administration (Statens vegvesen) to renovate the Granfoss tunnel in Oslo, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 580 M, about SEK 620 M, and will be included in order bookings for Skanska Norway for the third quarter of 2015.
