Some 250 professionals and decision-makers met at the 13^th Mining Forum in the German city of Kassel recently under the patronage of the world’s leading  producer in the salt business, the K + S Group. Among the discussions and presentations on technical subjects, innovation and the future of mining at this international event, which is also supported by VDMA Mining, attention was focussed on Industry 4.0.

DMT CoreScan UV is being launched in Canada as a new additional UV fluorescence imaging tool for the established DMT CoreScan System. Using this integrated feature makes it easier to analyse drill core e.g. for the distribution of fluorescent hydrocarbons or minerals such as scheelite and halite (salt). This kind of core analysis is also a routine operation in the field of oil and gas exploration.

Zum 13. Mal lädt die DMT Entscheider und Fachleute der Bergbau- und Rohstoff-Branche zum BergbauForum ein. Ca. 300 Teilnehmer treffen sich am 18. und 19. Juni 2015 im Kongress Palais in Kassel, um sich über aktuelle Entwicklungen in der Rohstoffbranche auszutauschen.

The main focal points of the "4^th Essen Technical Meeting on Geological Disposal of Nuclear Waste" were the current development of the "Endlagerkommission", the German commission for the disposal of nuclear waste, as well as the search for sites for disposal facilities in England, France and Ukraine.

Ab dem 1. September 2014 firmiert das englische DMT-Tochterunternehmen IMC Group Consulting Ltd. (IMCGCL) unter dem Namen „DMT Consulting Ltd“. Ebenfalls zum 01.09. wird die Essener Tochter IMC Montan Consulting GmbH in „DMT Consulting GmbH“ umbenannt.

From 1st September 2014 IMC Group Consulting Ltd. (IMC GCL), the British subsidiary of DMT, will trade under the name “DMT Consulting Ltd”. Likewise as of 01.09.2014 the Essen based subsidiary IMC Montan Consulting GmbH will be renamed "DMT Consulting GmbH".

Um Auszubildenden eine umfangreichere Ausbildung und damit bessere Chancen im späteren Berufsleben zu ermöglichen, kooperiert die Essener DMT GmbH & Co. KG im Rahmen der Ausbildung zum Vermessungstechniker seit einigen Jahren mit den Städten Essen und Mülheim an der Ruhr, dem Bergbaumuseum Bochum, der Fachhochschule Bochum, den Vermessungsbüros Arnscheidt und Petersen sowie dem Energiedienstleister PLEdoc.

The University of Leoben, Austria's university for mining, metallurgy and materials, has conferred an honorary professorship on Dr Bodo Lehmann, head of the Exploration & Geosurvey division at DMT GmbH & Co. KG. The award ceremony took place on 4 April 2014 in the university's Erzherzog Johann Auditorium.

Im Auftrag des tschechischen Energiekonzerns MND a. s. hat die Essener DMT GmbH & Co KG eine seismische Messung im Süden der Tschechischen Republik an der Grenze zu Österreich durchgeführt. Untersuchungsziel waren Öl- und Gasvorkommen in einer Tiefe von 800 bis 4.500 m.

Commissioned by the Czech energy company MND a. s., Essen based DMT GmbH & Co. KG has carried out seismic measurements in the southern Czech Republic close to the Austrian border. The purpose of the investigation was to detect oil and gas reserves at depths of between 800 and 4,500 metres.

Heinz-Gerd Körner, CEO and HR Board Director at DMT retired on 31st March 2014. After holding a managerial position at DMT since the company's inception in 1990, Körner was appointed to the executive board in May 1999 and held the position of chairman from March 2008 onwards.

Prof. Eiko Räkers will take over as CEO from 1 April 2014.

Zum 31. März 2014 geht der Vorsitzende und Arbeitsdirektor der DMT-Geschäftsführung Heinz-Gerd Körner in den Ruhestand. Körner ist seit Gründung im Jahre 1990 in leitender Funktion in der DMT tätig. Seit Mai 1999 ist er Mitglied der Geschäftsführung und seit März 2008 in der Position des Vorsitzenden.

Prof. Dr. Eiko Räkers wird ab 1. April 2014 den Vorsitz der Geschäftsführung übernehmen.

The Essen based consulting and engineering company DMT GmbH & Co. KG (DMT) together with the EPC company McNally Bharat Engineering Co. Ltd. (MBE) from Kolkata, India has designed, engineered, supplied, built and now put into operation a complete state-of-the-art by-product plant for the cleaning of coke oven gas. The plant, which is situated in Burnpur in Eastern India, belongs to IISCO Steel Plant, a company of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
