ILF provides Expertise for Hydropower for South Korea

ILF Consulting Engineers was assigned a contract to support a research project regarding operation and maintenance of pumped storage power plants by the Sejong University in Seoul in the Republic of Korea. The project is supported by KHNP (Korea Hydro Nuclear Power Company), owner and operator of all existing pumped storage power plants in the Republic of Korea.

EU Project NEXT (New Exploration Technologies) started

On 23 and 24 May 2018, the research project Next, financed by the European Union as part of the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme, started with a kick-off meeting in Rovaniemi, Finland. Next will develop new geomodels, novel sensitive exploration technologies and data analysis methods, which together are fast, cost-effective, environmentally safe and potentially more socially accepted.

The first even “30 under 30 Europe” list features 300 innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders from across Europe whom are transforming business, technology, finance, media and culture. Each of those honoured were vetted and selected by a panel of experts in their respective fields. EU Parliament Hearing: A good Day for Carbon Capture and Storage in Europe

Thursday 12 November was an important and encouraging day for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in Europe.

In the morning there was a high-level hearing in the European Parliament entitled ‘Towards a global CCS breakthrough: Lessons from abroad & a plan for the EU”, where around 120 attendees participated. This hearing was hosted by MEPs Theresa Griffin (S&D, UK) and Krišjanis Karinš (EPP, LV), ZEP, the CCSA and GCCSI, in association with the Gateway project and the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
