Roadmap for the Future: Hatch helps develop Port Master Plan 2050

The Port Authority unveiled its “Port Master Plan 2050,” a comprehensive document that lays out a flexible roadmap for the next generation of land-use and infrastructure development projects at the Port of New York and New Jersey. Combining worldwide port planning expertise with regional context, Hatch and its teaming partners were able to develop the 30-year port master plan with the Port Authority. The key principles guiding the plan were to provide jobs and economic benefits to the region, ensuring sustainability and resiliency in all operations and future developments, identifying areas for improved operations, alternative revenue streams, and optimizing Port Authority-owned land.

Port Houston undergoes Modernization with help from Engineering Firm, Hatch

Port of Houston Authority (PHA) continues to upgrade and modernize elements of its Barbours Cut Container Terminal—one of two major container terminals that they operate—to accommodate a forecasted double-digit growth. PHA oversees 25 miles of terminals along the 52-mile-long ship channel the busiest port in the US in terms of foreign tonnage, second-busiest in overall tonnage, and sixteenth-busiest in the world. PHA has called upon Hatch, an engineering and consultancy firm with more than two decades of experience at Port Houston, to plan and execute upgrades to the in-bound truck check-in gate and security gates, which are nearing their functional capacity. By expanding, relocating, and modernizing the gates and components, the terminal will have a throughput of 2.5 million TEUs, twice that of the existing in-bound gate system.

Controlled Thermal Resources and Hatch partner to revolutionize Lithium Production using geothermal Power

Controlled Thermal Resources (CTR) announced the launch of the company’s $1.8-billion Hell’s Kitchen lithium-geothermal project at the CG/LA North American Infrastructure Leadership Forum. The project’s available lithium carbonate equivalent is estimated at approximately 76,000 tonnes per annum and will use 100 percent renewable baseload geothermal power. Hatch has been and will continue to support the project’s technology development and will provide engineering and project execution services.
