Production capacity in Aitik and Tara is now fully restored after previously announced disruptions due to covid-19 and breakdowns. Impact on operating profit in Business Area Mines is estimated to amount to SEK -300 million in Q1, compared with SEK -200 million that was previously communicated.

Vattenfall and Boliden to work together for a fossil-free Future

Vattenfall AB and Boliden AB have signed a partnership agreement relating to technical development in the field of the electrification of mines and smelters, the circular economy and a fossil-free future. The agreement, which covers a four-year period, also includes battery solutions with a view to supporting the electricity grid and optimising electricity consumption.

Boliden invests in the Tara Mine in Ireland

Successful exploration at the Tara zinc mine in Ireland has identified a new mineralisation with an inferred mineral resource of 10 Mtonnes. Boliden has decided to expand the mine’s tailings dam and launch a programme to extend the life-of-mine.

Dalradian Resources Inc. Announces C$35 Million Bought Deal Financing

Dalradian Resources Inc. (TSX:DNA)(AIM:DALR) announce that it has entered into an agreement with a syndicate of investment dealers led by Cormark Securities Inc. and including Dundee Securities Ltd., BMO Capital Markets, Canaccord Genuity Corp., RBC Capital Markets, Beacon Securities Limited, Clarus Securities Inc., Euro Pacific Canada, Inc. and Global Maxfin Capital Inc. (the "Underwriters"), which have agreed to purchase, on a bought deal basis, 43,750,000 units of Dalradian (the "Units") at a purchase price of C$0.80 per Unit (the "Offering Price"), for aggregate gross proceeds in the amount of C$35 million (the "Offering"). Each Unit will consist of one common share of Dalradian (a "Unit Share") and one common share purchase warrant (a "Warrant"), each Warrant being exercisable to acquire one common share of Dalradian at a purchase price of C$1.04 for a period of 24 months following the closing date.

Strabag’s N17 N18 Irish Motorway Project is European PPP Deal of the Year

The European-based technology group for construction services, Strabag SE, has been awarded the distinction of European PPP Deal of the Year by industry journal Project Finance International (PFI) for the financing of the construction of the Irish N17/N18 motorway between Gort and Tuam. PFI praised the Strabag-led consortium DirectRoute for securing long-term debt from international commercial lenders in the first Irish public-private partnership (PPP) since the Irish sovereign debt crisis.

BAM Joint Venture wins major Road Contract near Belfast

BAM Contractors, the Irish operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, and its joint venture partner FP McCann have been awarded the A26 dual carriageway contract for the Department for Regional Development in Northern Ireland. This design and build contract has a value of approximately € 48 million, which will be split equally between the JV partners.

BASF to boost Production Capacity for its LIX Product Range of Solvent Extractants

BASF will expand the manufacturing plant for its LIX product range at its Cork site, Ireland. An investment is underway with production scheduled by end of 1Q, 2015. The LIX product range of Solvent Extractants is used for hydrometallurgical extraction of copper from oxide ores. BASF has a broad range of reagents and provides optimized solutions, particularly for mines experiencing difficult operating conditions.

Longest Tunnel in Ireland reaches its Destination

The longest tunnel ever built in Ireland has just been completed in Co. Mayo. The 4.9 km tunnel, (which is 300 m longer than Dublin’s Port Tunnel) has been under construction since January 2013. The tunnel runs under Sruwaddacon Bay, a special area of conservation (SAC), and will house a key onshore section of the Corrib gas pipeline. The tunnel will be used to connect the previously laid 83 km offshore pipeline from the Corrib Field to the Bellanaboy Bridge Gas Processing Terminal.
