World Mining Congress 2018: Stages of Program Formation

From June 19 till June 22, the 25th anniversary World Mining Congress will be held in Astana. Such large-scale event of world significance is held for the first time not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the territory of CIS. Kazakhstan was chosen not casually for anniversary WMC. Country's resources are a rich mineral resource base: 99 elements of periodic table are found in internal parts of the earth, 5000 active deposits, more than 60 elements are used in production.

Glencore to support Nyrstar at Port Pirie

Glencore announces that it has been engaged by Nyrstar to provide, through the Kazzinc operation in Kazakhstan, training and ramp-up support services in connection with Nyrstar's Transformation Project in Port Pirie, South Australia. This follows the successful implementation of Kazzinc's New Metallurgy Project, which was completed in 2012.

Glencore to reduce Mine Production of Zinc Metal

Glencore is announcing today a 500,000 tonne reduction of contained zinc metal mine production across its operations in Australia, South America & Kazakhstan. The main reason for the reduction is to preserve the value of Glencore’s reserves in the ground at a time of low zinc and lead prices, which do not correctly value the scarce nature of our resources.

Gazprom and Kazakhstan address prospects for bilateral cooperation

The Gazprom headquarters hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Sauat Mynbayev, Oil and Gas Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, including the implementation of joint projects in hydrocarbon exploration, production, processing and marketing.
