Metso Outotec has signed an agreement for the delivery of engineering and key equipment for an iron ore Grate Kiln pellet plant to Vulcan Pelletizing LLC.

Metso Outotec and Grupo Palmero have signed a distribution contract concerning aggregate crushing and screening solutions for Argentina. Palmero will be the new local provider of Metso Outotec fixed plant and mobile equipment, including Lokotrack and Nordtrack, the Nordberg NW Series wheel-mounted equipment, as well as Metso Outotec crusher wear and spare parts. Palmero will also provide related aftermarket support and services. The contract has gone into effect as of March, 2022.

Metso Outotec has signed an agreement to acquire Tesab Engineering Ltd, a Northern Ireland based company offering mobile crushing equipment for aggregates applications, including quarrying, recycling, asphalt and concrete.

As a result of Russia’s military actions against Ukraine, the European Union, the United States and other countries have announced severe sanctions against Russia. While the mining industry is currently not directly targeted by the sanctions, sanctions against the banking sector and individuals as well as other restrictions may have an impact on Metso Outotec and our customers’ Russia related businesses. Due to the current unclear and changing sanction situation, Metso Outotec has temporarily ceased its deliveries to Russia.  

Metso Outotec has been awarded a contract for the delivery of key technology to the Boliden Odda zinc smelter expansion in western Norway.

Metso Outotec and Arabian Truck & Construction Equipment Company (ATEC) have signed a distribution contract covering Metso Outotec’s equipment, parts and services offering for the aggregates industry in Saudi Arabia. ATEC is a well-known and recognized local construction equipment and commercial vehicle distributor.

Finding new solutions to decarbonize the steelmaking value chain is a must for the industry to become fossil-free and to help limit global warming to 1.5°C. To support the efforts, Metso Outotec is introducing the next generation of its Circored^TM process for the direct reduction of iron ore fines. The game-changing process uses hydrogen as a reducing agent instead of CO produced from fossil fuels, allowing the iron and steel industry to efficiently tackle the decarbonization challenge. Circored is part of Metso Outotec’s Planet Positive portfolio.

Metso Outotec has signed an agreement for the delivery of key equipment for the expansion of an existing production line at the Ferrexpo Poltava Mining iron ore grate-kiln pellet plant, which is located in the mining city of Horishni Plavni in central Ukraine.

Metso Outotec is launching two new models to the Lokotrack® mobile crushing and screening series. The new Lokotrack LT200HPX and Lokotrack LT220GP mobile cone crushers are compact but efficient units ideal for aggregate contractor customers, bringing up to 30% more capacity and added flexibility compared to earlier models.

Metso Outotec has been awarded a contract for the delivery of several horizontal grinding mills and thickeners to a greenfield nickel project in Indonesia.The value of the order is approximately EUR 24 million, and it has been booked in Minerals’ Q3/2021 orders received.

Metso Outotec has signed an agreement with the Canadian battery materials company First Cobalt Corporation to deliver Planet Positive solvent extraction technology to their cobalt refinery expansion in Ontario.

Engineering Dobersek in Germany and Severniy Mining and Processing (SevGOK) in Ukraine have selected Metso Outotec’s mill discharge pumps for Severniy’s greenfield process waste thickening plant.

Metso Outotec has signed an engineering and technology contract to deliver a raw water treatment plant for a gold plant project in the Middle East. The order value exceeds EUR 10 million, and it has been booked in Minerals’ Q3/2021 orders received.

Metso Outotec has signed an agreement with Florence Copper Inc., a subsidiary of Taseko Mines Limited, to supply copper solvent extraction and electrowinning technology for a plant to be built in Arizona. The order exceeding EUR 20 million has been booked in the Metals’ segment Q3/2021 orders received.

Metso Outotec and Tomra Mining have agreed to continue the non-exclusive cooperation to supply particle ore sorting solutions for the mining and metallurgical industries. The collaboration expands Metso Outotec’s and Tomra’s capability to offer leading-edge solutions that help increase the overall value of ore deposits by reaching new levels of energy efficiency and productivity, decreasing costs, and extending the life of mining operations.

Metso Outotec will deliver a high-capacity, high-powered Premier™ SAG mill to Northern Star Resources Limited’s Thunderbox gold mine expansion located in Yandal Belt, north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

Metso Outotec has signed an agreement to deliver industry-leading dewatering, flotation and automation equipment for the Nornickel Talnakh processing plant expansion project in Norilsk, Russia. The order value, which is not disclosed, has been booked in Minerals’ Q2 and Q3 2021 orders received.

Metso Outotec has signed a contract with Karara Mining Limited for the design of their tailings filtration plant expansion project at their iron ore mine in Western Australia.

Metso Outotec and Hispano Japonesa de Maquinaria S.L. (HJM) have agreed on an expansion of their distribution contract in Spain. In addition to mobile equipment, with the new scope the cooperation also covers Metso Outotec’s stationary crushing and vibrating equipment, crusher wear parts and spare parts, as well as service contracts, commissioning, and technical support. The contract comes into effect in July 2021.

Halmek Lithium has selected Metso Outotec’s patented lithium hydroxide process for production of battery-grade lithium hydroxide at their greenfield plant in the Tula region in Russia. The order value, which is not disclosed, has been booked in Metals’ Q2/2021 orders received. Metso Outotec’s scope of delivery consists of the engineering and key equipment supply for the lithium hydroxide process, the basis of which will be the Metso Outotec OKTOP Autoclave Plant. The environmentally sound production process is one of Metso Outotec’s more than 100 Planet Positive products.
