Turquoise Hill announces financial Results and Review of Operations for the second Quarter of 2020

Turquoise Hill Resources Ltd. today announced its financial results for the period ended June 30, 2020.

“Faced with the challenges of operating within the constraints posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Oyu Tolgoi team posted outstanding safety and production performance in the second quarter of 2020. The open pit operations have continued uninterrupted, and the underground development, while experiencing restrictions on workforce numbers and the ability to repatriate specialists from around the world, has continued to progress. The team’s focus on optimization initiatives has resulted in, among other things, an increase to our 2020 gold production guidance.

Maciej Gwozdz, President, business area Europe has decided to resign from Outokumpu to take a new position in another company. He will continue to work in Outokumpu in his current position until the end of September. His successor will be appointed in due course.

Critical Metals can be profitably recovered from low-grade Ores and Waste

Critical and economically significant metals, such as cobalt and nickel, can be recovered profitably from metal refining wastes as well as ores with lower than usual concentrations. This was demonstrated by an EU project coordinated by VTT, which developed new and combined existing recovery methods. Various stakeholders interested in using low-grade ores and waste can evaluate the valorization of raw-material streams with the webtool developed in the project.

Anglo American Platinum ramps up ACP Plant to restart refined PGM Production

Anglo American plc notes the announcement by Anglo American Platinum Limited released to the Johannesburg stock exchange. The text of the announcement is copied below:

Anglo American Platinum has safely and successfully completed the repair of the Anglo Converter Plant (ACP) Phase B unit. The ACP and full downstream processing operations are completing a safe ramp-up and expect to be fully operational from 12 May 2020. Force majeure to suppliers of concentrate will be lifted on that date.
