Salini Impregilo joins short List for mega sustainable Mobility Project to protect Stonehenge archeological Site in UK

Salini Impregilo has joined the short list for the A303 Amesbury to Berwick Down sustainable mobility project valued at £1.6 billion (€1.8 billion) to conserve Stonehenge, one of the most important archeological sites in the United Kingdom, as well as improve the quality of life of the surrounding area, stimulate economic development and foster tourism. The project involves the construction of a dual carriageway road.

Genoa in Italy: Completion of Piers on West Side of Riverbed in Record Time

Workers have completed the installation of all the piers on the west side of the Polcevera riverbed in Genoa across which will stretch the bridge being built by PerGenova, a joint-venture between Salini Impregilo and Fincantieri. With the installation of Pier 1 to support a ramp of the A10 Highway, the number of piers completed has reached 15 out of a total of 18.

“Today we celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Barbara at every work site of Milan’s new M4 metro line after having achieved a record: in the past month, we were able to excavate a kilometre under the city centre, using a removal system for materials that kept its impact on street life to a minimum. To work on a project this big, with 56 work sites, some located in the downtown area, is not easy. And I thank you for this, for the enormous work you have done in a country where public works are undertaken with great difficulty. The M4, which will transport up to 86 million people a year, is one of the most important projects in sustainable mobility in Europe.

Salini Impregilo and Astaldi in Mobilinx Consortium awarded Construction Contract for Hurontario Light Rail Transit Project in Canada

Salini Impregilo and Astaldi, together with Canadian partners as members of the Mobilinx consortium, have been awarded a €917-million (about CAN$1.3-billion) civil construction contract by Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx for the Hurontario LRT (HuLRT). The complete Mobilinx team, which also consists of John Laing, Hitachi, Amico, Bot and Transdev, will design, build, finance, operate and maintain the HuLRT for a 30-year term.

Salini Impregilo enters Norway: Group wins Railway Contract

Salini Impregilo enters the Norwegian market for the first time with the signing of a €388-million civil works contract to upgrade a 13.6-kilometre section of a rail line between the towns of Nykirke and Barkaker south of Oslo. The contract is the latest effort by the Group to expand in countries that are investing in infrastructure and carry a lower risk profile, such as Australia and the United States.

With an order backlog at the end of June exceeding $4 billion and new orders totalling more than $800 million including contracts that are new or in the process of being finalised, as well as best offers, the Group aims to increase its market share with new projects in the transport, water and tunnelling sectors.
