The research investigated the erosion of tidal sand in protective sea-dikes along the Wadden Sea coast in the Dutch province of Friesland and represents a significant development in the Dutch Flood Protection Programme. Water seeping through the dike has the potential to develop tiny channels (piping) that wash sand away and could cause the dike to fail. This critical research aims to identify conditions that influence this mode of dike failure, particularly during periods of high water.

Following the recent announcement of the opening of Datchet Quarry CDE is delighted to announce a partnership with Cemex to deliver a further three new sand and aggregates washing projects across the Midlands and South of England. Over the four projects Cemex is making a substantial investment to further strengthen their UK aggregates operations. To date two projects are complete with another two to commission before the end of 2016.

A government bill introduced yesterday into state parliament to end sand mining on North Stradbroke Island in 2019 is at odds with the Palaszczuk Government’s pro-jobs agenda, and the Premier’s own commitment to consult and not ‘pick fights’ with the resources industry.

The closure of sand mining operations would mean social and economic disaster for the North Stradbroke Island community.

CDE Global has announced a new addition to the team with the appointment of Mr. Ruchin Garg as Business Development Manager for The Gulf. The sand and gravel plant for leading construction materials supplier WA Limestone is now in its fourth year of operation having produced 1,000,000 tons of concrete sand and gravel in the first three years.  Since it’s installation in 2011 at their site in Perth, Western Australia, WA Limestone has had no requirement to purchase any parts or service repairs other than routine plant maintenance which in itself has generated substantial cost savings while ensuring the optimum capacity at a rate of 200tph.
