The work of adapting LKAB for the ongoing transition process continues. This entails a re-organisation of HR and Sustainability and changes in group management.

As Senior Vice President HR and Sustainability Grete Solvang Stoltz is leaving the company, a review of the organisation has been made. This means that the current position of Senior Vice President HR and Sustainability will be replaced by two positions: a Senior Vice President HR and a Senior Vice President Sustainability. Recruitment to the position of SVP Sustainability has recently been completed.

International Women in Mining (IWiM) is proud to announce the success of its 2021 International Women in Resources Mentoring Programme (IWRMP). The virtual closing ceremony was held on 5 October 2021 and was attended by over 130 participants worldwide. These included mentees, mentors and representatives of sponsor organisations who used the occasion to celebrate the positive impact that the programme has had on their careers and organisations.

In an Australian first, a mentoring program for senior high school girls is expected to boost the number of women working in Queensland’s resources sector. 

A program to help women develop their careers in Queensland’s resources sector begins in Brisbane tomorrow (Wednesday).

The Women in Resources Mentoring Program will be officially launched tomorrow night by BHP Billiton (BHPB) Asset President Rag Udd and Leanne Enoch MP, Minister for Innovation, Science and the Digital Economy and Minister for Small Business, who will be representing the Premier.

A program to encourage women to stay in resources sector careers will continue next year, with continuation of funding from the Queensland Government.

For the third year in a row, the proportion of women in senior management at K+S has continued to increase. In 2013 the proportion of women in management positions in Germany came to 11.2% compared with 10% in the previous year. In 2010, the base year of the voluntary commitment of the DAX-30 companies to increase the proportion of women, the percentage was 7.2%.

A Rio Tinto Coal employee with a 12-year mining career working in both Queensland and New South Wales has capped off a remarkable year after being selected as one of 100 inspirational women in mining from around the globe.

Rio Tinto Coal Australia NSW regional manager for resource development Heather Bell, 34, was selected among more than 500 nominations in the first 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining Project, undertaken by Women in Mining (UK).

Boliden has been awarded the Swedish industry's equality prize, for its focused work in this field.
