Bauer Indonesia completes Expansion of Taxiway at Jakarta Airport

The Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, located in Cengkareng, Banten, suburb of the Indonesia’s capital city, Jakarta, is one of the largest airports in Asia and 17th world’s busiest airport with an annual passenger volume of around 63 million (as of 2017). In order to deal with the increasing number of flights (now at over 447 thousand flight movements per year) and to optimize the time taken for ground handling of individual aircraft, a new connecting taxiway will be constructed to connect the existing runways at east side of airport. Currently, there is only one connecting taxiway located at west side of airport which supported for all aircraft’s movement.

Endomines reports good progress on construction and commissioning activities at its Friday mine project in Idaho, USA. The project continues to advance in line with the original expectations regarding both timetable and budget and has reached several development milestones in accordance with the project plan. The announced target timetable is to start up the mine within a year from the acquisition, i.e. by the end of February 2019, and the project budget is USD 7.7million.


ThyssenKrupp achieved Operating Targets and raised its Forecast

The industrial and technology group ThyssenKrupp achieved its operating targets in the 2nd quarter and in the 1st half of fiscal year 2014/2015 and has specified and raised its forecast for the full year. Sales, adjusted EBIT and free cash flow in the reporting period increased in part significantly. “Our measures to improve efficiency are working and we are moving forward with the transformation of the Group. The further earnings improvement reflects our stronger performance focus,” says ThyssenKrupp CEO Dr. Heinrich Hiesinger.


Crossrail Improvement Works begin at Harold Wood Station

Network Rail has begun improvement works for the Crossrail programme at Harold Wood station.

The improvements to the station include:

  • A replacement footbridge over the tracks with new staircases to platform level
  • Three new lifts to provide step-free access to every platform
  • Platform extensions to ensure that the station can accommodate the new, 200 metre long Crossrail trains

Fehmarnbelt Tunnel will be repaid in 32 Years

The economics of the Fehmarnbelt tunnel are sound, and the project’s repayment period is lower than previously estimated. A new financial analysis from Femern A/S shows that the repayment period for the Fehmarnbelt project is 32 years. This includes both the tunnel itself, between Rødby and Puttgarden, and upgrading the railway between Ringsted and Rødby.


Optimised Tunnel Segment Production Output for Sydney's North West Rail Link

The double carousel system which is making the concrete tunnel segments for the North West Rail Link (NWRL) in Sydney is achieving record production rates. CBE Group supplied the carousels to the Thiess John Holland Dragados joint venture. The carousels are achieving 1700 segments per week with daily production exceeding 300 units – reaching as high as 380 segments.

The process enhancements shall lead to sustainable result improvements of at least €120 million by the end of 2017.
