Teerag-Asdag AG, already a wholly owned Porr AG subsidiary since 2012, has merged with Porr Bau GmbH as of 3 September 2016 and will operate in future as Porr Bau GmbH with the sector supplement “Civil Engineering”. Nothing will change with the familiar services, performance, markets, client relations, contact partners and the company’s workforce.
“We already have been, de facto, a single unit for many years”, says Karl-Heinz Strauss, CEO of Porr. “With this merger we want to let the public know that we are a strong team and that our full service range offers all construction services and complete coverage throughout our markets. The unified PORR brand will not only lead to even greater cohesion in internal affairs, but also sends a clear signal to our clients, partners and shareholders. They can rely on the fact that with our bundled competencies and knowhow we will operate even more efficiently in the future”.
The new Porr Bau GmbH . Civil Engineering
Teerag-Asdag – and the current Porr Bau GmbH with the sector supplement “Civil Engineering” – has been a key player in the Austrian construction industry for more than a century with its broad service portfolio. Its primary core competency is every aspect of civil engineering. As a leading provider in Austrian road construction, it offers everything from earthworks and demolition through to asphalting, noise protection measures and road markings, as a complete package for every client. In addition, the company has an impressive set of references in bridge building, engineering and pipeline construction.
Bundling all competencies under the strong Porr umbrella brand creates both internal and external value added: from optimised knowhow transfer for specialised tasks throughout the whole Group through to greater efficiency in handling complex processes in the new structure.
“Continuity is a particular priority for us. This is why there will be no changes to the personnel structure after the Teerag-Asdag construction business is spun off into Porr Bau GmbH; our clients and partners will keep their usual contact partners. The well-established cooperation will remain in place, as will the decentralised controls and the local competencies of every branch office. It goes without saying that there will be no changes to the content of existing contracts. And, as before, our colleagues will continue to give their all – from the smallest project to the largest”, said Karl-Heinz Strauss.
