The Saarbrücken civil engineering contractor SaarGrundbau has successfully completed a tunnelling project using a Herrenknecht AVN 1200 C micro boring machine (TBM) running on biodegradable hydraulic fluid from the German-based company Fluid-Competence. Anglo American has successfully completed a sea trial using biofuel blended with very low sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO), reducing carbon emissions by approximately 10%.
